Improving access to local communities
Improving access to local communities Booysendal mine, Limpopo provincial government and neighbouring mines in the eastern limb have contributed funds to construct a major bridge (steel bridge) that connects Sekhukhune communities with nearby towns through an artery road. We have already supported neighbouring villages by providing community water and electrifying more than 400 households. The latest improvement project was paving the access road into the community, which involved laying a 1.4 km road base topped with interlocking paving stones, storm water channels and pipes. We also installed speed humps, road markings and signs to ensure road safety. The project appointed local blackowned contractor, Pula Civils, and the local communities benefitting from the creation of temporary employment.
