TSF Leading best practice
Northam has not fully adopted the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management. We are, however, committed to make use of best practice and technological tools. This is demonstrated with the process followed with stability assessment and InSAR.

Climate change, energy supply and affordability are significant business risks for Northam. Through our climate change roadmap, we are responding to the energy crisis and climate change, with targets to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and initiatives to incorporate renewable energy and improve energy efficiency.

Changing our shift pattern to reduce turn over
Booysendal operates in an area with a competitive labour market. This has recently resulted in higher employee turnover, especially for lower-level and critical skilled workers, who are attracted to new projects and local mining operations.
